Different Classes of
Disney's Resorts
(Short Excerpts From the Book)
Disney offers many levels of
accommodations and service to their guests. Disney
categorizes their resorts in the following manner:
Value Resorts
Moderate Resorts
Deluxe Resorts
Campground
Home Away From Home
- During the Value Season and other
select times of the year, Disney will offer specials and
discounts as low as $49 per night. Most of the specials
and discounts are extended to Annual Passholders. One of
the best benefits to having an Annual Pass is the discount on
hotels.
- This is definitely the cheapest way to
stay on property. For the price you will get a nice, clean
room, but it will not be big nor will it have an internal
hallway. The theming for this category of hotels is very
Disney. It is perfect for children and for those who want to
see Disney characters everywhere. Not only are there Disney
characters everywhere, but also huge, larger than life statues
and props.
- Each of the Value Resorts have two
well-themed swimming pools (the Pop Century Resort has three)
- Rooms are the size of a typical motel
room or small hotel room.
Room accommodations include:
- Two double beds (there are a small number of rooms
that have a king-sized bed).
- Dual line phones with voicemail
- Irons, ironing boards and safes are in each room
- Hairdryers, cribs and refrigerators available.
Refrigerators are available for an extra
charge of $10 a day.
- Coin laundry facilities
Moderate Resorts
$135- $209 per night at most of the
Moderate Resorts
$135- $1,140 per night at Coronado Springs
- During the Value Season and during
other deeply discounted times, many rooms are offered for as
low as $79 a night.
- Offers one to nine pools per resort.
These pools are a step above the themed pools you will find at
the Value Resorts. A lot of the pools have very elaborate
themes and are something that one would find at a water park.
Some pools are a great place for kids and families to play
while others are perfect for adults to relax.
- Most rooms at the Moderate Resorts are
a little bigger than the Value Resort rooms and like the Value
Resorts, only sleep 4. There is the option of a hide-a-bed at
the Port Orleans-Riverside, and those rooms will accommodate 5
guests.
- Coronado Springs offers suite rooms
that are very nice and comfortable, but the prices go straight
through the roof. Some of the suites are more expensive than
getting two of the standard rooms. This is a great option if
you have the bucks, but for most it is definitely not a money
saving tip.
Room accommodations include:
- Dual line phones with voicemail
- Irons, ironing boards and safes are in each room
- Hairdryers, cribs and refrigerators available.
Refrigerators are now free at all Moderate Resorts
- Laundry facilities/services
- Room service
- Babysitting and child services
Coronado Springs offers additional
accommodations such as:
- Health Club
- Wireless Internet Access
- Barber and Beauty Shop
- Business center and meeting rooms
- Banquet hall

-One of the best perks of the Deluxe

-Offer multiple pools per resort. These
pools are on par with the themed pools at the Moderate
Resorts. A lot of the pools have very elaborate themes and are
something that one would find at a water park. Some pools are
a great place for kids and families to play while others are
perfect for adults to relax.
-Most rooms at the Deluxe Resorts are a
little bigger than the Moderate Resort rooms. Most of the
hotels offer suite rooms, but be prepared to pay for these
upgrades.

of the year and the amenities of the site. Camping sites
are listed as partial hookup, full hookup and preferred full
hookup sites.
- There are two basic pools on the
property. These pools are not very extravagant, but they
serve their purpose.
- All camp sites feature a RV pad, picnic
table, garbage can, grille, water and electricity.
- Full hookup sites include sewer and
cable connections.
- Preferred sites are closer to stores,
showers and transportation.
Site accommodations include:
- Showers and restrooms
- Ice Machines
- Laundry facilities
-The Home Away From Home Resorts and villas are part of the
Disney Vacation Club (DVC). These are reserved for
owners of Disney's timeshare club. They can be rented
from the public and there are some ways of getting discounted
timeshare points.
-The Home Away From Home Resorts offer units that have
multiple rooms, full kitchens, and living rooms. The
resorts offer the amenities that most of the Moderate Resorts
have.
-Unless you are able to rent someone else's timeshare or
are a member of the Disney Vacation Club, these are not an
economical option.
